Our BoardAt the annual meeting on November 5, 2006, the Finley Forest owners present elected Fran Alderman, Matt Ferguson, Michael Johnson, and Katherine Williams to new two-year terms on the board. All had served on the board immediately previously. Here are some messages from board members to help you get to know them a little better. Fran Alderman I've lived in Finley Forest since May, 1991 and been a resident of Chapel Hill more than 46 years. I have served on the board several times: 1992-1994, 1998-2000 and 2004-2006. I've held positions that include President, Secretary, Treasurer and Chair of Social, Covenants and Buildings Maintenance Committees. I see this community as the place I shall live the remainder of my life; a very good reason for wanting the association to be fiscally conservative and very responsible for the common elements of Finley Forest. My outside interests include tennis, reading, travel, and a bit of container gardening. Carolyn Barrett After graduating from high school, my length of stay in any one place was 2 years. I spent 2 years in upstate New York, 2 years in Pennsylvania, 2 years in Kansas City, 2 years in Boston, 2 years in Brazil, and 1 year in New Orleans. All that stopped when I arrived in Chapel Hill in 1977, so I must like the area. In 2001 after my children were grown and out on their own, I downsized and moved into Finley Forest. I was appointed to the board in January 2005 and was then elected to serve a two year term at the annual meeting in November 2005. As a home owner, I like knowing what is going on in the Finley Forest community and since this is my largest investment, I like knowing how the value of my home is being maintained. I look forward to serving the homeowners over the next year and urge everyone to get involved in what ever way they can. Donna Kaye I have lived in Finley Forest for the past 9 years, and have lived a total of 16 years in Chapel Hill. I'm originally from New York, but now proudly claim my Southern home. I have a son who attends East Chapel Hill high school and we both have enjoyed the amenities that Finley Forest provides. When the mood strikes us, we can play a game of tennis, shoot some hoops and go for a swim. I love the beautiful trees and wooded feel of our community, and I especially enjoy the spacious layout of my town home. I consider myself very fortunate to live in such a nice place that is so conveniently located. As a board member, I am committed to keeping our homes, grounds and structure in top shape, and to keeping our fellow homeowners informed and involved.
